Sandra SEUBERT, Prof. Dr.

Since the Winter Semester 09 /10, Sandra Seubert is Professor of Political Science with a focus on political theory at the Goethe University. Previously, she was Associate Professor of Political Theory at the same University. Sandra Seubert obtained her PhD with Prof. A. Honneth in 1998 titled "Gerechtigkeit und Wohlwollen. Bürgerliches Tugendverständnis nach Kant". In February 2008 she completed her habilitation procedure with the thesis "Krise oder Chance gesellschaftlicher Integration? Eine demokratietheoretische Analyse des Konzepts des Sozialkapitals; her habilitation lecture was: Was interessiert uns am Privaten? Probleme liberaler Selbstbeschränkung". Sandra Seubert has also been Visiting Scholar at the New School University, New York (post-doc funded by the DFG), Research Assistant at the University of Potsdam and Lecturer at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin. In 1998 -1999 she was Research assistant in the research project "Verläufe und Faktoren der Konstitution demokratischer politischer Identität in nachdiktatorischen Gesellschaften", Prof. Gesine Schwan at the FU Berlin.
