Elena IORIATTI, Prof.

Elena Ioriatti Ferrari is Associate Professor in Comparative Law at Trento University, Faculty of Law (Italy), where she teaches Comparative Legal Systems (compulsory, first year) and EU legal translation (Workshop, elective).
She holds a PhD in English and Italian (supervisor prof. H.J.M. van Erp, Maastricht University, The Netherlands) on the European Codification Process.
Her main research activity is focused on the relationship between law and language, legal translation, comparative private law, European private law. She has published and edited fives books and numerous articles in Italian, English, French and Spanish.
At Trento University she leads the “Law and Language Program” and the “Transnational Law Program”.
She is an expert of legal translation nominated by the DGT Translation of the EU European Commission (expert nominated on her personal capacity) and member of various scientific committees (REI net, European Commission; Associatión de las Facultades de Derecho Latinas; Bar Association School of Law).
